The Construction Industry Regulatory Authority (CIRA) has commenced a five-day tailor-made Site Management Training for project staff from the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), aimed at strengthening project management capacity and enhancing the delivery of infrastructure projects across the institution.
The training, which began on 10 August 2026 in Mangochi, brings together MRA personnel involved in the planning, supervision, and implementation of construction projects. The programme has been specifically designed to equip participants with practical skills and knowledge required for effective site management, project coordination, quality control, contract administration, and compliance with construction industry standards.
As MRA continues to invest in infrastructure development to support its operations and service delivery mandate, the need for competent project oversight and efficient site management remains critical. The training seeks to address these needs by enhancing participants’ understanding of best practices in construction project implementation and supervision.
Speaking on the significance of the programme, CIRA’s Industry Research Promotion & Development Manager, Eng. Jeremiah Nkowani, emphasized that effective site management is a key determinant of project success. Proper supervision, adherence to specifications, timely decision-making, and efficient resource management contribute significantly to achieving quality outcomes while minimizing delays, cost overruns, and defects.
The training provides an interactive platform for participants to engage with industry experts and share practical experiences related to infrastructure development projects. Through presentations, case studies, and group discussions, participants are being exposed to modern approaches and techniques that promote efficiency, accountability, and quality assurance within construction projects.
