Reminder to pay arrears for Annual Licence fees and Deregistration of dormant firms

The Construction Industry Regulatory Authority was established by the Construction Industry Act No.28 of 2025 to regulate, develop, and promote the construction industry in Malawi. Under the Act, the Authority has the mandate to keep and maintain a register for each category of firms engaged in the Construction Industry.

The Authority is hereby calling upon all construction firms, consultants, construction material manufacturers, and suppliers that have outstanding arrears for annual licence fees for the financial years 2018/2019 through to 2024/2025 to settle their dues without delay.

Failure to comply with this requirement will result in the permanent deregistration of the affected firms, effective 30 September 2026.

Furthermore, all registered firms that fail to renew their annual licences for a period of three (3) consecutive years beginning 19 September 2025 shall be automatically deregistered in accordance with Section 31(b) of the Construction Industry Act, 2025.
